On Wednesday the 12th March, I went with Chloe Trenier and
Nicole Ezeudo to the Junk Kouture semi finals in Castlebar, Co.
Mayo. At 9am we left with Ms Masterson for the three hour
journey to Mayo.
When we got there we had to register and get our tickets. As
Nicole was the model, I helped Chloe do her make-up. Nicole
had a practice on the catwalk with the other contestants. After
lunch we got Nicole’s dress on and layered.
The dress was made of recycled newspaper with flowers made
from electrical wire and newspaper. The room was buzzing with
all the contestants putting the finishing touches to their outfits.
There was a haze of hairspray in the air.
When the show started there were people outside lining up for
tickets. Nicole was a little nervous as she lined up with the other
78 contestants. We gave her lots of encouragement and we took
our seats with Ms Masterson.
Unfortunately we were not winners on the night but we had a
great time and it was a great experience for us all.
