TRAnSiTion yeAR
On Wednesday the 1st of May the Transition year students met at the Royal School in
the early hours of the morning to head of to Dublin Airport for London. There was a lot
of excitement amongst the group and also some tired faces!
When we arrived at the airport we got checked in and looked around at the duty free
shopping, we then boarded the plane at 7.30AM and headed of to London!
We arrived in London Gatwick Airport at 9.00AM and shortly after got on our bus
to head for the London Dungeons. Getting lost on the way to the dungeons, we
eventually found our way.
The London dungeons was a scary but thrilling experience as we saw many years of
history about London e.g Henry the eight and Jack the Ripper. There was a historic
boat ride in the middle of the dungeons, and in this we ended up getting wet and cold.
After the eventful afternoon at the dungeons we headed to our hotel in Wembley
which took an hour on the bus. All of the students were given their rooms and some
free time to relax before heading back into Central London for a Westend Show. The
Show we seen was The Lion King, it was a breath taking experience! However, many
students fell asleep due to the long hours of travelling! To get back to the hotel we had
to go on the London Underground, which to some people was a new experience. It
didn’t take very long to get back to Wembley.
The next morning, tired faces turned up to breakfast and then we headed of to the
well known theme park ‘Thorpe Park’. There were some amazing rollercoaster’s at
