MATHS week 2013
As part of Maths Week which took place from 14th to 18th October, our school
set up various activities to get involved in. These activities included the students
going onto the website www.mangahigh.com which is a maths games website
that allows students to compete with other schools during Maths Week in order to
achieve medals. The school with the most medals received prizes.
Another activity our school got involved in was a competition called Mathseyes.
Students could take a photograph of something in school they thought showed
some aspect of maths in it.
The senior winner was Melissa Heaslip, the junior winner was Sophie Bell and the
junior runner –up winners were Conor Blaney, Dillon Squires and Octavian Carey.
Well done to the winners and to all those who participated.
The final activity that students got involved in was Countdown. This took place at
lunchtime on two days in Ms. Gray’s room with prizes for both the winners and all
students who got involved.
Well done to all who got involved on making Maths Week 2013 a success.
