The Techno Teachers Association

                                         awards, GMIT, Galway

The award ceremony for achieving the second highest Junior Certificate 2015 examination grade in
                         Ireland in the subject “Technology”.

My day travelling to the Annual Techno Teachers Association awards in Galway started very early
in the morning, as the ceremony was at 10:00am in GMIT. Upon arrival, I was greeted by a number
of chairpersons from the association, and was given some light refreshments. Then we were
brought into a large lecture room, where the presentation was being held.

Inside, there was a number of speeches about the association, and how the subject of Technology
is in fact growing in popularity in the State Examinations. Furthermore, Speeches were made on
how technology is a sector that is in high demand for employment in the future, and that we
should in fact as students be looking towards this sector for our CAO Courses.
Finally, the prize giving began, where I was awarded a certificate of acknowledgement for my
achievement and a wooden plaque from the Techno teachers association. Other students also
received awards, including a Hong Kong native, whose parents travelled all the way around the
                         world to be there.
Overall, it was a great day, and I am proud of my achievement.

                                                                                   Cian Walker, TY
