KILLARY 2014
We set off early on Tuesday morning on the
4th of November 2014 and we arrived just
in time for lunch at the Killary Adventure
Centre, Connemara, Galway. We were then
told our activity groups.
Straight after lunch my group headed off
to have a shot at the high speed swing and
the rock climbing wall. When we arrived
back at base we had dinner and we were
then told to have a break and chill out
with our friends.
That evening we met up again and we all
participated in evening games. Each of
our groups battled against each other in
many indoor activities to try and score as
many points as possible.
On Wednesday morning we headed off to
the activity centre about a half a mile walk
away. We then were told we had to walk
up a slippy gorge which was great craic and everyone enjoyed it. After gorge walking
we went out on to the river and messed around in canoes which was good fun but
everyone was soaked. We then returned to the main centre and ate lunch got changed
quickly and headed offf again to partake in laser combat and high ropes.
That evening we returned for dinner got washed and dried and had another go at
evening games.
On Thursday we did the turf challenge which can be seen on Irelands Fittest Families.
This is quite a mucky and dirty challenge which envolved a lot of people getting stuck.
After lunch we headed off on a long walk to help us with our Gaisce Awards.
On Friday morning we done a short walk to finish up our Gaisce walk when we returned
to the centre we pack our stuff had a bite to eat and headed for home. We got to stop
for a Mc Donalds on the way home which was well needed. Everyone arrived back at
the school wrecked and dying for a nice long sleep.
It definitely was a week to remember!!!
