Chess Club

                                                The chess club meets every Tuesday lunch time in Mr Robertson’s room.
                                                It has been running now for a number of years and currently has over 25
                                                members. We play friendly games every week and we have an in-house
                                                championship every year before Christmas. This year the winner was Mark
                                                Noble with George Marshall as runner-up.

                                                Subsequently we went to play in the first every Inter school competition
                                                in Portlaoise. The A team consisted of: Mark Noble, David Nzewi, Adam
                                                Syed and George Marshall. The B team consisted of: Sultan Adeleke, Tiwani
                                                Akinlabi, Nathan Ellis and Conor Tobin. We all had an excellent time with
                                                the A team coming sixth and the B team coming fourth. Thank you very
                                                much to Miss Argue for accompanying us on the day. Thank you also to
                                                Meabh O’Regan & Tolayo Akinlabi who facilitate the Chess Club every
                                                Lunchtime.  The chess club is open to everyone, from first years to sixth
                                                years so come along and join in, and have some fun!!
