Christian Union Christian Union Committee

Christian union was held in Ms. Poyntz’ room every
second Thursday. At each meeting, held by our
chairperson Claire Hall, we would have about 20
people where we would be joined by guest speakers,
sing songs and have fellowship. We also enjoyed lots
of games and ice breakers to bond as a group and to
make everybody feel comfortable to talk openly in
front of each other. Of course as it was lunch time we
would have lots of treats such as sweets, popcorn and
          hot chocolate.

Last September our C.U group was invited by
Armagh Royal to attend their C.U formal which was
held in the Hillgrove in Monaghan. Twenty students
from the Royal Cavan and twenty students from the Back Row L-R: Tolayo Akinlabi, Matthew Stewart, Ms. Poyntz, Adam McClean,
Collegiate Monaghan joined the Armagh C.U for a Catherine Graham. Front Row L-R: Nicola Fannin, Claire Hall, Melissa Heaslip
lovely evening which included a meal and a dance.
Between each course of the meal there was plenty of
games, speakers and ice breakers to mix the schools
amongst each other. It was a great oppurtunity for the
C.U’s to mix, get ideas and chat and to catch u with old
friends. It was also a great excuse to dress up!
Our committee this year included Claire Hall,
Catherine Graham, Melissa Heaslip, Nichola Fannin,
          Matthew Stewart and Adam McClean.

It was a successful year and we hope for even bigger
          numbers next year.
